Dr. Muhammad Nauman
Principal Investigator (PI), Quantum Materials and Thermodynamics (QMAT)
Dr. Muhammad Nauman is the Principal Investigator of the Quantum Materials and Thermodynamics (QMAT) Group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, School of Natural Sciences, National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. His research explores the fundamental properties of quantum condensed matter systems, spanning topics such as magnetism, correlated electron phenomena, and emergent states of matter. Dr. Nauman has previously held research positions at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), Kyungpook National University, South Korea, and served as a visiting scientist at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), USA. Driven by curiosity, he enjoys studying questions both profound and playful, such as why certain materials are magnetic while others are not, or what the physics behind the green color of leaves can reveal about nature’s design.
